At HOLZsud, we are acutely aware of the need for climate-responsive design, including design for ‘blue’ (water) and ‘green’ (plants) to ameliorate the ‘red’ (urban heat impact).
Blue-green infrastructure (BGI) is needed in the building and urban design.
In addition to extensive shading, screening and greening devices being incorporated into the building design, at HOLZsud we have adopted a ‘pavilion + pocket-planting’ planning approach, which together could create a new, innovative, climate-responsive, sub-to-tropical Queensland terrace house.
Cool.
